IPR to be at Origins; Brisk Product Update
Hello, Comrades!
A quick reminder -- if you're going to be at Origins in Columbus Ohio this week, drop on by the IPR booth and have a chat with us, and get a chance to take a look at some of the past year's additions to our catalog (we'll have several of the hardcover graphic novel collections from Archaia Studios, as well as our usual broad assortment of games).
If you can't make it to Origins, you may still want to check out our front page, where we've recently added several new preorders as well as a few other products: Don't Lose Your Mind, The Dreadful Secrets of Candlewick Manor, Curriculum of Conspiracy, and Bizenghast Adventures.
Looking ahead, we also plan to be at Dexcon and Gencon, as usual.
We hope to see you there -- whichever "there" you choose!

Late May IPR Update - California Cons & Stock Updates
IPR Convention Appearances
West Coast folks! IPR is going to have a presence (in some fashion) at two conventions next weekend.
Up in the SF bay area there's KublaCon -- EndGame will be there, and bringing a wide swath of titles from the IPR catalog for sale.
For the Southern Cali crowd, Gamex 2008 will be happening the same weekend -- Joshua Roby will be there with a spread of IPR games for sale as well.
Plenty of indie play happening at both conventions too, if we hear right. Check 'em out!

Early May IPR Update - Blood, Cthulhu, and Iron
Early May IPR Update
Greetings, Comrades! Normally we'd wait a little longer before putting out a new message, but we've had a bunch of things happen in the last couple weeks and just can't wait to talk about them.
Trail of Cthulhu PDF Available to Early Adopters
If you ordered Trail of Cthulhu (print version) before the 8th of May, you should have received a voucher from Pelgrane Press for a free or cut-price PDF of Trail. If you didn't get it, please contact simon@dyingearth.com
Retailers! Come Take Advantage of Our New Discount
We've seen a few new retailers and some old friends come on by in the last couple weeks since we announced our new 45% off discount for retailers. But we'd love to see more! If you are a retailer, or have a local game store that doesn't carry IPR's games, please consider getting the word out that IPR is positioned to be more competitive than ever.
Houses of the Blooded Preorder Going Gangbusters
John Wick's new game, Houses of the Blooded, is in preorder and selling like hotcakes. John is also offering a Limited Edition Hardcover with a bunch of extras... but only 100 copies are being printed and we've already sold nearly two-thirds of them, so move quickly if you're looking for an all-the-bells-and-whistles version that includes a CD containing music and template files for building your own Houses of the Blooded documents!
Remember, when you place a preorder through IPR you are paying up front and guaranteeing a copy, but you're also helping to fund the print run for a small press publisher -- super useful and much appreciated by the "little guy"!

IPR: New Discount for Retailers and Product Stock Update
IPR Announces New Retailer Discount
At GTS 2008, we at Indie Press Revolution talked to a lot of retailers, and got a lot of great feedback about what we're doing and what we could do to improve. Time and again we heard from you that our 42% standard discount wasn't good enough.
We heard you.
Effective back to the beginning of April, and going forward, IPR has increased its standard retailer discount to 45%!
Those of you who placed orders from IPR earlier in April should find an email in their mailbox with a gift certificate good for the difference on all the products you bought at 42% off which are now priced at 45% off. If you placed an order in April and did NOT get your gift certificate, please contact us and let us know so we can investigate!
We're excited about making this change, and we're eager to improve our business relationship with you. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns (or, heck, praise!), you can reach us at support@indiepressrevolution.com
Change in Preorder Shipping Policy
Turns out splitting up preorder shipments is costing our publishers a bundle! Effective for April 2008 going forward, IPR is changing its preorder shipping policy such that orders which contain preordered items will be delayed until all items in the order are available to ship. Take care when placing those preorders!

IPR News: March Troubles
Hi, folks.
March has been a turbulent month for us here at Indie Press Revolution. The Trail of Cthulhu preorder ship-out hit at the beginning of the month, and was big enough to introduce a bit of a backlog in our shiping process that we didn't quite overcome for most of the month.
As a result, our shipments in March have not been performing to our standards and satisfaction. If you placed an order in March and feel the shipping service wasn't up to snuff, please don't sit by quietly and fume. We want -- we need -- to hear from you, and want to do what we can to make it up to you (perhaps with a free PDF of Don't Rest Your Head, or something else if we can manage it!).
Our customer service email is open at all times of the day, and our customer support guy Fred is ready to personally handle any problems you have to share with us like they were his own. Just come to our website and drop us a line letting us know what order was affected -- or simply reply to this message if you're receiving it by email.
Again, our apologies for stumbling in March. We're working hard to fix the issue as we move on into April. We look forward to hearing from you, and we promise we will do right by ya if something's gone astray.

IPR News: Feed Me!
Product Updates go RSS
We're making a move at Indie Press Revolution to make the regular product updates less about email and more about using syndicated (RSS) feeds. With that in mind, we'd like to point you at two new feeds (and one old one) for adding to your RSS aggregator of choice:
You can get to the above feeds through LiveJournal as well -- iprproducts and iprprodstatus. If you're a LiveJournal user, adding these to your friends page guarantees you'll be on top of what's happening at IPR. And don't forget the IPR News Page has an RSS feed as well (iprnews on LJ)!
With the advent of these feeds, "new and back in stock" emails are going to become less frequent, though we will still send out the occasional one to highlight new additions.

IPR Has a New Investor
We are excited to welcome a new member to the IPR family. Effective March 1st, Chris Hanrahan (most notably of EndGame, in Oakland California) has invested in a small piece of the company, and we are happy to have him aboard. Chris wanted to share his thoughts and reasoning for jumping onboard, and we figured this would be a nice way for you all to meet him:
"I'm thrilled to suit up as a Revolutionary. As many of you know, I've worked with IPR as a client for a few years now, and I am a believer in the community that has formed around Indie Press Revolution, the things we sell, and the model the business lives and breathes. When Brennan contacted me to gauge my interest there was no hesitation. IPR is helping change the face of gaming and I am more than happy to be a part of that. In the coming months, I hope to work with my fellow retailers, gamers, publishers, and the whole IPR community to get the word out there. Viva la Revolution!"
Please welcome Chris to the family. He will be at our Gama Trade Show booth in April, and has threatened to stop by our booths at Origins and Gencon. If you see him, say "hi!"

IPR Announces Change in Shipping Policy
Heads up, comrades! IPR is changing its shipping policy in March.
From now until the end of February, direct-sale customers of IPR will continue to get our free domestic shipping on orders of $35 or more. (While the economy has pushed us to change our policy, we wanted to give everyone a bit of a Valentine's Day present before we make the change!)
Starting in March, IPR will change to a new shipping policy: up to $5 will be taken off of shipping costs for every $50 spent on an order for all of our direct sale customers. This discount will be applied to all shipping methods -- media mail, priority mail, and Fedex -- and will work for both domestic and international customers.
While this does mean a small increase in shipping costs for our domestic customers, it also means they'll enjoy a greater flexibility in the options they can select without losing the value of a shipping discount -- and for our international customers placing larger orders, this will amount to a potentially significant reduction in costs.
Our retailers will continue to enjoy free domestic shipping on orders totalling $200 or more -- we're only changing our shipping policy for our direct-sale customers.
We and all the publishers at IPR truly appreciate the support and understanding our customers have given us. We hope that this new policy makes the best possible effort to look out for everyone's interests -- our customers and our publishers -- and it will certainly be a more supportable shipping policy going forward.
So when should you buy to take advantage of the shipping offers available in February and March? Here's a quick guide to "min-maxing" your orders in the next two months:
- If you plan to order $35 or more for domestic shipment by priority or media mail, order in February! Shipping will be free.
- If you plan to order $50 or more for shipment by FedEx, order in March! Your FedEx charges will be reduced.
- If you plan to place an international order for $50 or more, order in March! Your shipping charges will be reduced.
We thank you again for your support.
