IPR is paying for reviews of IPR products? Really?
Ah well, at least it’s out in the open.
Awesome! Will IPR’s drovers be able to keep Ken to a regular schedule? One can only hope!
@C.W.Richeson: I understand what you’re saying, but I’ll repeat what I’ve said elsewhere:
Ken’s not being paid by most of the publishers at IPR. He’s being paid by the owners of IPR: that means Pelgrane, Evil Hat, and Galileo Games.
He’s already told us he won’t review our products without waving some sort of “warning! corporate shill!” flag. But we all agree that the rest of the publishers’ products are fair game.
He’s also absolutely free to review products which IPR DOESN’T carry. The sole concession otherwise is that when he talks about a product that IPR does carry, a link goes in to the listing on IPR.
This is not much different from, say, your local gaming store paying him to review products found in the store. Your store doesn’t *produce* those products, it just *sells* them.
It’s not the same situation as if, say, Evil Hat paid Ken to write reviews of Evil Hat’s stuff.
And he hasn’t even posted a single entry!
The blog is not going to be strictly reviews. Ken writes about whatever Ken wants to write about.
